Arts Council Hosts Performance of “Satchel Paige”
The Arts Council of Mississippi County welcomes international independent theater stage actor and playwright, Cedric Liqueur and his acclaimed one-man solo performance
of “Leroy ‘Satchel’ Paige: Long Rifle.”
This performance is based on the life of Leroy “Satchel” Paige. Satchel Paige was the first
Negro League baseball player to be elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a star pitcher
in the Negro Leagues, and, at the age of 42, was the oldest rookie to sign a major league contract
with the Cleveland Indians.
