Workshop by Derek Penix: Landscape and Still-Life Painting

Members: $350, Non-members: $375, space is limited This three day workshop will include one-on-one instruction, demonstrations, and critiques. Medium utilized will be oils, and the class will cover subject matters ranging from landscapes to still-lifes. The focus will be on light and shadow painting. Penix will discuss the importance of shape, value, color, edges and composition. Students will focus on seeing in terms of mass and form rather than detail and line. There will be demonstrations, as well as individual critiques and instruction. Students should bring reference materials such as photographs. This class is designed for the intermediate to advanced student, but all are welcome.
