Governor Mike Beebe has declared Thursday, October 31st Weatherization Day in Arkansas in celebration of the Weatherization Assistance Program. An event sponsored by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and the Arkansas Energy Office will take place in the (Little Rock) River Market to generate awareness about the program and to educate Arkansans about the benefits of weatherization. Speakers Include: (10:30 a.m.) • Mark Whitmer, Executive Director, Crawford-Sebastian Community Development Council • The Honorable Mark Stodola, Mayor of Little Rock • The Honorable Joe Smith, Mayor of North Little Rock • Scott Hamilton, Arkansas Economic Development Council, Arkansas Energy Office, Director • Rose Adams. Executive Director, Arkansas Community Action Agencies Association • Keith Cragg, Centerpoint, Area Manager • Larry Cogburn, Executive Director, Central Arkansas Development Council • Richard Smith, Entergy, Manager, Energy Efficiency • Jazz Combo I from the University of Arkansas at Monticello will perform Demonstrations will take place at the mobile training lab directly behind the pavilion after the speakers. Lunch will include barbecue and the traditional Weatherization Day cake. A table will include applications and general information on how to apply for the program.
