Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families will hold its Friends of Children Annual Luncheon to celebrate the power of child advocacy. As part of this event, we will present the 2014 Friend of Children award to retired Arkansas Supreme Court Associate Justice Robert Brown and Representative Darrin Williams. Both of these honorees have made significant impacts in Arkansas. Justice Brown and Representative Williams have supported effective and responsible public policies that have provided necessary resources and opportunities for all Arkansans to lead healthier and more productive lives. Table and event sponsorships are available. Individual tickets are $50. Since 1977, AACF has served as a voice for children at the Arkansas State Capitol and in Washington, D.C. Our three-pronged approach of coalition building, legislative advocacy and research has proven effective in creating enduring social change in our communities. The impact of our work has improved the lives of children in many ways, including reducing the number of uninsured children in this state from 21 percent to 6 percent, as well as increasing access to quality pre-k education for at-risk 3- and 4-year-olds.
