World of the Pharaohs: Treasures of Egypt Revealed Egypt for the Holidays Special Holiday Promotion December 4 - January 3, 2010 When patrons see World of the Pharaohs at the Arts Center or "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at The Rep, they can save their ticket stub to receive $5 off tickets at the other venue. "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" is a fast-paced, high-energy family musical based on the story of Joseph in the Bible’s book of Genesis and will take audiences on a rainbow ride through biblical Egypt. Joseph runs from December 4 – January 3, with evening performances at 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday matinee performances at 2 p.m. and special performances on the evenings of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day at 7 p.m. Presented in cooperation with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, World of the Pharaohs displays 3,000 years of art and artifacts from ancient Egypt. This amazing exhibit, presented in conjunction with the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, "explores the long-vanished world of ancient Egypt and the pyramids." It includes more than 200 incredible objects including a colossus of Ramses II, Egyptian arts, amulets and jewelry, statues, stone objects and artifacts.
