Free Turkish Course at UALR

Turkic Student Association (TCSA) offers free Turkish courses at UALR every Thursday 03:00 pm - 04:30 pm in collaboration with Raindrop Turkish House (www.raindropturkevi.org/littlerock) from elementary to advanced levels. Turkish courses aim to develop listening, speaking, reading, writing skills and introduce Turkish culture. Students are encouraged to focus on conversational Turkish with an emphasis on active participation using CDs, DVDs, and conversation partners. All students will have the opportunity to get a free Turkish Olympiad (www.turkisholympiad.com) ticket, Turkic festival (www.turkicfest.org) at Houston Texas and attend cultural activities at Raindrop Turkish House at Little Rock. Here are some reasons why one should study Turkish 1) Turkish is the 5th biggest language spoken in the world. There are more than 200 million people speaking Turkish. 2) Turkish language is written in Latin alphabet and pronounced as it is written. Therefore, it is easy to learn and to pronounce. 3) Turkey is the emerging economic power with geographical and political ties with Central Asian and Middle Eastern countries. 4) Turkey has a very rich history from Biblical times to the earliest human civilizations, from the first Christians to the most elegant architectural monuments of Islamic civilization. 5) Turkey has a long established culture of coexistence between various members of ethnic and religious groups from Jews to Syriac Christians from Circassians to Albanians.
