North Little Rock holiday excitement begins on Monday, November 30 with
the Seventh Annual Holiday Lights in Burns Park, a drive through light display which will continue through Tuesday, December 30 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. each evening. Admission is $5 per car, $10 per 15 plus passenger vehicle and $20 per motorcoach.
Come kick off the holiday season as we turn on the lights for 2009. Opening ceremonies begin at 5:45 p.m. Proceeds from the Holiday Lights in Burns Park go toward the purchase of additional lights and North Little Rock Recreation Projects. The North Little Rock Christmas parade is scheduled for Sunday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. The rain date will be Sunday, December 13.
The theme for the parade this year is “Kaleidoscope Christmas.”
All clubs, organizations, schools, churches and businesses are encouraged to participate in the parade and incorporate a “non-traditional”
Christmas color in their entry. An entry form may be obtained by calling the North Little Rock Visitors Bureau at 501-758-1424 or by stopping by the North Little Rock Visitors Bureau in the Visitors Center located in Burns Park at exit 150 off I-40. All entries must have entertainment appeal by being in costume or decorated. The parade will begin at 2 p.m. at Pershing and Main and will continue down Main Street to Washington Avenue. There will be only
one Santa Claus in the parade. The entry deadline is November 30.

On Saturday, December 12 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. will be the 6th Annual Dashin’ Thru the Lights in Burns Park. This is a fun dash and is a chance to get out with family and friends to dash/run/walk or stroll through the Holiday Lights in Burns Park, normally a drive-thru display. The display is one mile in length. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome. Admission is $5 per person or $10 per family which benefits NLR Parks and Recreation youth programs. Participants will receive a limited edition, commemorative holiday ornament.
