Arkansas Pastel Society 3rd National Exhibition “Reflections in Pastel” December 4, 2009 – January 10, 2010 Admission is Free Arkansas Arts Center Community Gallery at the Terry House The Arkansas Pastel Society (APS) was established in 2004 as a non-profit educational art association by a small group of pastel artists and has grown into an active regional organization with over 50 members. The goals of the APS are to promote pastels as a medium, sponsor pastel art exhibitions and educational workshops and bring together pastel artists. The APS sponsors a National Pastel Art Exhibition every two years. “Reflections in Pastel” showcases artists from throughout the United States. The exhibition is open to all artists over the age of 18 and must be at least 80% soft pastel. Selected works in the exhibition receive monetary awards including “Best of Show,” “People’s Choice” and more. Doug Dawson served as juror for the 3rd National Exhibition. Arkansas Arts Center will be open on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Arts Center will be closed on Christmas Day.
