World of the Pharaohs: Treasures of Egypt Revealed Trip January 16-24, 2010 Tour Leader Joseph Lampo Organized by Poe Travel and the Arkansas Arts Center Now you can discover Egypt's stark desert beauty, home for centuries to the monumental legacies left behind by the Pharaohs. Poe Travel and the Arts Center have organized an alluring World of the Pharaohs trip to Egypt, extending to you a gateway through time that reaches across the centuries. Led by Director of Programs and World of the Pharaohs Curator Joseph Lampo, trip participants will visit the splendors of Egypt. Travellers will see the Great Pyramids of Giza, ride a camel across the desert sands to visit the mysterious Sphnix, cruise down the Nile to visit Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, the Colossi of Memnon, Temple of Philae and the unfinished Obelisk. The journey continues with a brief flight to Abu Simbel to see Ramses II’s Temple fronted by four massive colossi. Then, travelers will spend time in Cairo shopping at the fascinating Khan El-Khalili Bazaar and touring the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. Trip participants will meet exclusively with Dr. Zahi Hawass and hear his personal insights into the mysteries of the Pyramids and the Sphinx and learn the up-to-date information on some of his latest discoveries in Egypt.
