2010 Black History Month Schedule of Events The Eddie Mae Herron Center and Museum in Pocahontas will host special Black History Month activities throughout February. Events include hog butchering, quilting, food demonstrations and lectures. To learn more visit www.HerronCenter.org or phone 870-892-4661. The following is a list of activities for February 1st week Sue Ness will demonstrate making aprons and their uses on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (Feb 1, 3rd and 5th) from 10:00 to 3:00 and on Friday the 5th from 6-8 P.M 2nd week Mac Hackworth will demonstrate how to milk a cow and a goat. 3rd week on Monday and Wednesday there will be demonstrations on how to make bird feeders from 10:00 to 3:00, and the story of George Washington Carver will be told. 3rd week Saturday, February 20, is the Hog Butchering and Pot Luck Dinner. The singers from St. Louis are coming and we will have church at the Center on Sunday and lunch. This event will start around 8 A. M. The last Friday February 26 will be a Community Pot Luck Dinner and we are going to have a speaker but that is still not confirmed. Other events still not finalized.
