Juror Amanda Linn, Artist and Educator
The Annual Student Competitive features work created by students
taking studio art and design classes in the UALR Art Department. This
year 311 works were submitted for review. On display are 117 works
representing all studio disciplines being taught at UALR including:
drawing and design, painting, printmaking, graphic design and
illustration, photography, textiles, metals and furniture design,
sculpture and ceramics.
This year the juror/curator for the Student Competitive exhibition was
Amanda Linn. Amanda taught at Parkview Magnet High School from 2004 –
2009. She was named a Milken Educator in 2005. She taught 17 years
in the public schools in Arkansas. She is currently working for the
Arkansas Leadership Academy at the University of Arkansas as lead
institute facilitator and institute program designer.
Amanda Linn is a studio artist and exhibits her work at Gallery 26 in
Little Rock. She was on campus Saturday March 20 to review the work
submitted by students and to curate the exhibition.
At the reception scheduled on March 30, at 12:15pm a variety of awards
will be announced including the Friends of the Arts and Wilma & Jack
Diner Awards, plus recent purchases for the newly renovated Health
Services department.
Several local businesses have graciously donated awards which will be
awarded to students. The UALR Gallery Program greatly appreciates the
support of these businesses each year.
