This program fills the requirements for "Junior Naturlists",an Arkansas State Parks program. The program is for children ages 7-14 and it is designed to show these children the life of a young pioneer. Things that may be scheduled include pottery, appleheads, scent snacks, corn shuckery, ozark games, making and using quill pens, playing rhythm instruments, and spinning yarn. The program will be held on Saturdays for the months of April, May, September, and October. The program will run Tuesday through Saturday in June and July. During the month of August the program will run Wednesday through Saturday. Hours are 11 am, 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm. Registration will be 15 minutes prior to each program at the Young Pioneers Cabin (Shannon Cabin). Operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. (870) 269-3851 www.ozarkfolkcenter.com
