For years, people have enjoyed the graceful flights, social antics, gurgling songs, and insect-eating habits of the purple martin. Lake Ouachita provides remarkable habitat for migrating purple martins. From July through August Lake Ouachita State Park in Mountain Pine hosts Purple Martin Watch Lake Tours. Join staff aboard a tour boat and venture out to Bird Island to see these magnificent birds. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for kids and reservations can be made at the park visitor center.
