The UALR Gallery Program presents a series of exhibitions in
collaboration with the Arkansas/Mexico 2010 Celebration. The year
2010 marks two historic events in the history of Mexico - the 200th
anniversary of the independence and establishment of the Mexican State
in 1810 and the 100th anniversary of the 1910 Revolution to overthrow
the dictator Porfirio Diaz.

Gallery III – August 16 – September 22, 2010
In the late 1950’s Louis and Elsie Freund traveled to Mexico to draw
on location of
many of the now famous archeological sites. This series of drawing
were created by Louis Freund feature The Pyramid of the Sun and Moon,
Mitla, and Olmec sites. The Freund’s are
credited with starting the art program at Little Rock Junior College
which later became
UALR.
