OAKLAWN TO HOST SPA CITY POKER OPEN $10,000 seat at national tournament on the line HOT SPRINGS, Ark.– Imagine playing a hand of poker with names like Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu in one of the nation’s most competitive Texas Hold’em competitions. Beginning Monday, Sept. 6, Oaklawn Racing and Gaming will be offering one skilled poker player that exciting opportunity. Over the next 10 weeks, the search will be on to find 20 qualifiers to battle it out for not only the title of First Spa City Poker Open Champion, but also a seat at the World Poker Tour’s Southern Poker Championship in Biloxi, Miss. The seat is valued at $10,000 and Oaklawn will also provide roundtrip airfare and lodging to the winner. The qualifying multi-table tournaments will begin Monday and continue every Monday and Wednesday until Nov. 10. The top two finishers from each of these will clinch a spot in the finals on Nov. 17 when a champion will be decided.
