LifeQuest of Arkansas adult education classes

LifeQuest of Arkansas adult education classes start September 15 LifeQuest of Arkansas, a 29-year-old nonprofit organization, announces the start of the fall 8-week term of Adventures in Learning, beginning Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Forty courses are offered in an open-university setting, using the facilities at Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive. Volunteer instructors are educators, professionals in their related fields and skilled hobbyists. Classes are Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. A flat $40 fee covers all classes for the entire 8 weeks. Courses include intro and advanced Spanish, literature, poetry, current events, art, home and fashion, movies and theatre, jazz , the American west, modern trials, nutrition and weight control, balance, yoga, tai chi, Zumba Gold, sports, quilting, knitting, bridge, mah jongg and more. Computer classes for basic ($20) and intermediate ($30) are offered at the Willie Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center, 12th & Pine.
