Greg Thompson Fine Art to Feature Works of Barry Thompson North Little Rock, AR – Barry Thomas is one of the most loved painters in Arkansas. On Friday, September 17, 2010 from 5-8 pm, Greg Thompson Fine Art will host the opening of a new Thomas exhibit, Arkansas Landscapes in conjunction with 3rd Friday Night Art Walk in the Argenta area of North Little Rock. The show will run through November 13, 2010 and will feature a number of Barry Thomas’ new works. Thomas is enjoying a brilliant career as an Impressionist painter. He travels annually around the world using nature and the human figure for his inspiration. His work can be found in galleries across the United States. Public collectors of note include the J B Hunt Corporation, Alltel Corporation and the University of Arkansas System. His paintings can also be found in prominent private collections throughout the country. One of Thomas’ new paintings, Morning on the River, will be featured in this exhibition. It captures the beauty of the Arkansas River with the cool pinks and purples of a spectacular Arkansas sunset. “Barry’s work is timeless and captivating,” says Greg Thompson, owner of Greg Thompson Fine Art. “He is a natural fit for our gallery and we are thrilled to feature his latest work of Arkansas landscapes for our fall show." Greg Thompson Fine Art, established in 1995, opened its public gallery space in June 2009. It is located at 429 Main Street in the historic Argenta area of North Little Rock that is quickly becoming the ‘art district’ of the greater Little Rock/North Little Rock area. The gallery is on the second floor of an historic building built in 1895 known as the Faucette Building. Thompson spent several months designing his new space to look, feel and operate with the integrity of similar galleries in New York, Paris and California. It boasts 18-foot ceilings, original hard wood floors, and clean white walls. “There is nothing like it in the state of Arkansas. It is quickly becoming a destination gallery for the South,” Thompson says. For more information about Greg Thompson Fine Art and Barry Thomas visit www.gregthompsonfineart.com.
