Ansel Adams: The Masterworks (August 17-December 31): This collection of 47
photographs by Ansel Adams (1902-1984), represents about two-thirds of a
selection Adams made late in his life to serve as a succinct representation
of his life¹s work. He felt these photographs were his best. Called ³The
Museum Set,² it reveals the importance Adams placed on the drama and
splendor of natural environments that might not have revealed their secrets
to the ordinary passing hiker.
R.W. Norton Art Gallery and Gardens: Located at 4747 Creswell Avenue,
Shreveport, LA 71106-1899. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5
p.m., and weekends, 1 to 5 p.m. There is no admission charge and all events
and special exhibitions are free to the public. No reservations are needed.
