HOLIDAY EVENTS AT THE ROGERS HISTORICAL MUSEUM ’TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS THEME TOURS OF THE 1895 HAWKINS HOUSE NOVEMBER 29 – DECEMBER 31, 2010 11TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 28 12:30 – 4 P.M. The Reverend Clement Moore was a renowned Biblical scholar and professor. But despite his many learned writings, he is remembered most for the poem known throughout the world by its opening phrase, “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.” This holiday season that beloved poem will come alive in the Rogers Historical Museum’s 1895 Hawkins House, where the rooms will be decorated to tell the story of that magical Christmas Eve when “not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.” This year’s theme tours of the 1895 Hawkins House will debut during the museum’s 11th Annual Holiday Open House, which will be held from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 28. This free event will feature crafts, entertainment, and refreshments. The Rogers Historical Museum is located at 322 South Second Street, at the corner of Second and Cherry Streets in the Rogers Historic District. Hours are 10 to 5, Monday through Saturday, and admission is free. For more information call 621-1154 or visit www.rogersarkansas.com/museum.
