Presents The Jungle Book
(LITTLE ROCK, AR) – The Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre will present The Jungle Book January 21 – February 6, 2011 as part of its 2010-2011 season.
“We are very excited to bring The Jungle Book to the Children’s Theatre stage,” said Artistic Director Bradley Anderson. “This production is a beloved story that will please the whole family.” Anderson notes that the show plays on imagination and humor and it is sure to be a hit with families.
The audience will journey to the heart of the Indian jungle with Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale of Mowgli the man-cub, who is raised by wolves. When threatened by Bengal tiger Shere Khan, Mowgli finds courage and becomes a true hero with help from friends Baloo and Bagheera.
The cast for The Jungle Book includes Will Nicholson as Mowgli; Josh Rice as Bagheera; Mark Hansen as Baloo; Nate Buursma as Tabaqui; Katie Campbell as Hathi; Jimi Brewi as White Cobra; Mary Allison as Chil; Kenneth Barron, Lindsey Forga and Jim Short as KAA; and Nate Buursma, Katie Campbell, Mary Allison, Anna Holman, Kenneth Barron, Lindsey Forga and Jimi Brewi as the Ensemble.
Artistic Director Bradley Anderson directs the production with set design by Miranda Young, costume design by Erin Larkin, lighting design by Adam Britt and production stage management by Sinovia Mayfield. Lori Isner is the musical director. The play is adapted by Alan Keith Smith.
Performance times for The Jungle Book are Fridays at 7 p.m.; Saturdays at 3 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Single tickets are $14 for adults and $11 for children.
