The THEA Foundation is proud announce the 2011 THEA Visual Art Competition. The top fifteen Arkansas senior and junior works are on display. The top ten winning senior students receive scholarships and the top ten junior students receive a $100 cash prize. This year works were submitted from every corner of the state for this high level competition. Visual Arts Winners submitted entries of any medium based on the theme: “Amazing Butterflies.” The competition is based on an art piece by Thea Kay Leopoulos. "The level of talent displayed in the entries was amazing", said Paul Leopoulos, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the THEA Foundation. "It made the judging process very tough on the judges”. The THEA Foundation Scholarship Program awards scholarships without regard to GPA or test scores. The Scholarship Program is open to any Arkansas senior student including public, private, home-schooled or GED students. The THEA Foundation currently awards scholarships in the visual arts, performing arts, creative writing and film. The winning entries for this year’s competition and more information on this annual scholarship program can be found at the THEA Foundation’s website: www.theafoundation.org The 2011 THEA Visual Arts Competition display will be on view at THEA Foundation, 401 Main Street in North Little Rock, until April 10th during regular gallery hours.
