HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE ARTIST CYNTHIA SCHANINK TO SHOW IN JUNE The June Gallery Exhibit at River Valley Arts Center, 1001 East B Street, Russellville, will feature Cynthia Schanink, a watercolorist, from Hot Springs Village and Mt. Nebo. The exhibit will open with a reception on Sunday, June 5, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. The exhibit is free and the public is invited to come meet Cynthia, view her beautiful, original works of art and mingle with artists and art lovers as you meet old friends and make new ones. The exhibit and creative fun time in the classroom for children are excellent ways to spend time with your family and introduce children to the joys of art. The exhibit will remain on display through the month of June. Cynthia is a graduate of Russellville High School where she began painting watercolor and continued until her graduation from Arkansas Tech University. She then studied four more years at National Park Community College. She is a registered Arkansas Artist and was juried into the Arkansas Arts on Tour roster of the Arkansas Arts Council, authorized to teach watercolor workshops. She teaches from her Summit House on Mt. Nebo, was selected as a watercolor instructor at Winthrop Rockefeller Institute U of A on Petit Jean and has taught on cruise ships. Cynthia has shown her works and won prizes at many exhibits. She enjoys painting landscapes, portraits, flowers and animals of Arkansas. Cynthia will be conducting a one-day workshop at River Valley Arts Center Monday, June 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cost of the workshop is $45.
