LONG TIME RESIDENT’S ART FEATURED AT FAIRFIELD BAY LIBRARY Jeanne Homuth had a vision when she and Melva King formed the North Central Arkansas Artist League here in Fairfield Bay. Her love of painting and the area surrounding her inspired Jeanne to create works of art that depict scenes of Arkansas grandeur. Now that art may be viewed at Fairfield Bay Library, 369 Dave Creek Parkway in Fairfield Bay from the present to October 20th. Jeanne knows her way around the Bay, moving here in 1977. Her art beginnings in Arkansas began in an empty storefront in “Old Town” with a few other artists. Entirely self taught with a smattering of workshops, she executes both oils and watercolors. Her style can be expressed as somewhat impressionistic with the color flowing effortlessly through each of her works. Jeanne is open to try many new techniques, but above all else is her desire to paint particularly flowers from reminisces of her grandparent’s farm. In 1999-2000, Jeanne was presented with North Central Arkansas Foundation Art and Education’s “You Make A Difference Award” for her copious contributions to arts in the community. Serving as an inspiration to many artists who call her a mentor and friend, Jeanne offers her display for free viewing by the public at the library Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Tuesday-Thursday 1:00-4:00 p.m. and Saturday, 9:30am-12:30 p.m. For more information including purchase of -any works that are for sale, contact Ellen Kelly, Library coordinator, 501-884-6476.
