Visit one of the largest concrete dams in the United States. The Bull Shoals Powerhouse and Dam Tour explains how water is used to make electric power. See the massive equipment used by the Army Corps of Engineers and power companies to produce this important energy resource. Learn about the history of the construction, the environmental and commercial impact of the dam, and the role it plays in providing flood control, hydropower and recreational opportunities. Tours cost $4. Sign up at the Bull Shoals-White River State Park Visitor Center in Bull Shoals. Pre-registration and identification is required. The tours are offered almost daily throughout August.
