TOTR has become one of the foremost female barbershop choruses in the Southwest area. As part of this organization, TOTR competes on an annual basis with other choruses comprising Region 25 which includes the states of Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. At competition choruses are judged in the categories of sound, music, showmanship and expression. Over its 50 year history TOTR has consistently ranked in the top five choruses in Region 25. As either the Regional Champion or a Wildcard Selection, TOTR has represented Region 25 at International competitions nine times. The chorus just returned from Houston, Texas where they represented Region 25 at the 2011 Sweet Adelines International competition. The chorus consists of women of all ages. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings each week at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Sherwood, AR. Top of the Rock is under the direction of Peggy Gram and Kelly Causey. This year’s Christmas show, “Jingle Jam,” is scheduled for Friday, December 9, at Woody’s Sherwood Forest. The show features a gourmet meal, silent auction, raffle items and dancing. The chorus performs a selection of Holiday songs and the evening closes with dancing to the sounds of the High Balls, a local band. Top of the Rock Chorus is proud and excited to be celebrating 50 years of singing and dancing. The chorus is opening its rehearsals for the next six weeks and inviting any interested woman to sing with them for the Holiday season.
