The following changes are announced to TheatreSquared's performance calendar for the current production of It's a Wonderful Life:
Saturday, 12/17, 2pm — Performance canceled; ticketed patrons will be contacted by the Walton Arts Center Box Office staff to exchange to any available performance
Tuesday, 12/20, 7pm — 65th Anniversary Performance added to celebrate the debut of Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life on December 20, 1946. Champagne toast at intermission.
Wednesday, 12/21, 2pm — Family matinee added to accommodate demand
Friday, 12/23, 2pm — Family matinee added to accommodate demand
Due to high ticket demand for TheatreSquared's new stage adaptation of Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life, the company has added two performances for the upcoming holiday week, including two family matinees and a special 65th Anniversary Performance commemorating the film's premiere on December 20, 1946 (complimentary champagne toast at intermission).
The theatre also announced the cancellation of its Saturday, 12/17 performance at 2pm due to a cast member family emergency. All ticketed patrons will be contacted by the Walton Arts Center Box Office to exchange to a new performance, or may contact the box office directly at (479) 443-5600.
ABOUT THE PLAY
Seven actors portray 64 roles in this virtuosic live stage version of “the century’s most inspirational film” (American Film Institute). The story follows George Bailey, who puts his dreams on hold to take over the family business until it nearly slips out of his grasp. On Christmas Eve he stands alone on a highway bridge, wishing he’d never been born, when a mysterious stranger appears. A remarkable tale of redemption and old-fashioned holiday magic, newly reimagined for the stage, It’s a Wonderful Life reminds even the cynics among us that there’s so much to be treasured in life.
