An exhibition of Alonzo Ford's figurative drawings is now on view at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas. Ford’s drawings focus on memories of his family farm in Lexa, Arkansas. Stark figures engage in the daily activities Ford recalls from childhood. His depiction of couples dancing, a mother combing her daughter's hair, and a man alone carving a walking stick leave one with a sense of the activity, simplicity, and intimacy of mid-century rural life in Arkansas. The exhibition features a literacy corner with books about folk art and artists for both adults and children. The exhibition will remain on display through May 16, 2015.
