At halftime of their Class 3A state title game match-up with Barton, Charleston quarterback Dustin Shelby said the Tigers got a "butt-chewing."

Charleston scored 23 unanswered points and shutout Barton in the second half on their way to a 31-10 drubbing of the Bears and their third Class 3A state title in six seasons. Quarterback Dustin Shelby was named Game MVP.
