EDDY, Texas — A Texas meteorologist who was shot last month by an unknown gunman outside the TV station has returned to the air wearing a Superman T-shirt.

Patrick Crawford did the forecast Monday morning at KCEN, in the Waco area.

Authorities are seeking a man who on Dec. 17 shot Crawford three times as the meteorologist was in his car, outside the station, leaving after his shift ended. Crawford spent several days hospitalized.

A motive for the attack remains under investigation. A Department of Public Safety trooper didn't immediately return a message Monday.

Crawford worked from 2007 to 2010 at KHBS, the ABC affiliate in Fort Smith, as a morning meteorologist, according to his personal website.

KCEN's on-air staff and those in the control room Monday wore T-shirts with the Superman logo on the front and the words "Crawford Strong" on the back.

Crawford then opened his button-down shirt to reveal his own Superman T-shirt.
