3 women arrested in Arkansas home invasion in which resident, 81, fatally shot 4th intruder

Three women have been arrested on robbery charges related to an Arkansas home invasion in which an 81-year-old resident fatally shot a fourth intruder, authorities say.

Kiana Keshawn Montgomery, 21; Shaynesha Martin, 19; and Ke’Erica Turner, 20; each face counts of aggravated robbery, the Texarkana Gazette reported.

Each remained at the Miller County jail as of Monday morning.

The home invasion happened Thursday afternoon at a residence near the intersection of Arkansas 196 and Miller County Road 290 in Genoa, according to the newspaper.

Homeowner Buddy Cates shot one of four intruders at his home multiple times, leaving that person with fatal injuries, authorities previously said.

The intruder killed during the home invasion had not been named as of Monday afternoon. Investigators were awaiting an official cause of death from the state Crime Laboratory.

Cates, owner of several rental properties, told the Gazette that he has been robbed at his home six times in the past 10 months.
