Sylvia Reeves urged her son-in-law, Gordon Randall Gwathney, to pray with her to "chase out his evil" seconds before he shot and killed her and her elderly parents early Tuesday in their rural Lee County home, investigators say.

Watch VideoGwathney then chased after his estranged wife, Lisa Reeves, and wounded her brother, Travis Reeves, and a St. Francis County sheriff's deputy, Tracy Jackson, during a gunbattle before driving away under the cover of darkness, Arkansas State Police said.
The 46-year-old former Army soldier from Marianna was captured late Tuesday night in Laredo, Texas, apparently trying to cross the border into Mexico, according to state police spokesman Bill Sadler.
