Music Scene: Whiskey Falls to make a splash at Juanita's

— Whiskey Falls, a new band led by Californians who moved to Nashville, Tenn., will bring its show to central Arkansas for a performance at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Juanita's, 13th and Main streets, Little Rock. The band's show is part of the KSSN Country Club series of concerts at the club.

Admission is $6 and the show is open to those age 18 and over.

Whiskey Falls was started by Seven Williams, lead singer and main songwriter, with Wally Brandt, who also sings and writes songs. They added Buck Johnson on guitar, keyboards and mandolin, and Damon Johnson on lead guitar. The two Johnsons are not related. Damon Johnson had formerly been the leader of Southern rock group, Brother Cane.

Williams and Brandt started their partnership in Los Angeles with a film and TV music production company, We 3 Kings.

The One Stone Reggae Band will headline an evening of Reggae and Soul Rhythms from 10 p.m. today until 2 a.m. Sunday at Juanita's.

Twanna Campbell and DJ Hy-C will also perform.

The eighth annual Bluegrass Gospel Festival will be held at 7 p.m. today and Saturday at the Lester Flatt Park, just off Arkansas 107 in Otto, near Vilonia.

Admission is $10 per day, $5 for children ages 6 through 12.

The Ozark Blues Society will present Blues in the Natural State from 4 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday at George's Majestic Lounge, 519 W. Dickson St., Fayetteville.

Admission is $10.

Featured performers will be Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Jimmy Thackery with Earl Cate, Little Joe McLerran & Robbie Mack, Tas Cru, Mike Dollins Band with Ocie Fischer and Liz Lottman and Leah & The Mojo Doctors.

The guest master of ceremonies will be "Sunshine" Sonny Payne, host of the King Biscuit Time radio program on KFFAAM, 1360, in Helena, who has hosted the daily show since 1951.

The B.E.A.T. Tour will feature Platinumb, Kinkade, Michael Shane and Dave McRoberts in a show at 8 p.m. today at The Village, University and Asher avenues, Little Rock.

The Gettys, a popular party band around central Arkansas, will be in charge of the party tonight at the Peabody Little Rock hotel, Markham and Louisiana streets, Little Rock.

The Peabody RiverTop Party will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight on the area overlooking the Arkansas River at the hotel.
