Mena weather radio off air

— The National Weather Service says the NOAA weather radio broadcast is off the air in Mena. The weather service says damage from Thursday night's tornado knocked out the station.

Rain and thunderstorms are forecast for Sunday and Monday, and recovery crews in Mena have been scrambling to get ready.

The weather service says the broadcasts, which cover Polk County, will be off the air until further notice.

The weather service says some parts of Polk County may be able to pick up the Mount Ida broadcast (station kxi-92, frequency 162.425 mhz). But that transmitter is operating in a reduced capacity with a very limited broadcast signal.
