Reports: Fugitive drug lord surrenders in Jamaica

Jamaica news media are reporting that reputed drug lord Christopher “Dudus” Coke has surrendered to police.

The U.S. has called Coke one of the world’s most dangerous drug gang chiefs and is seeking to extradite him to face trial on drug and arms trafficking charges.

Coke’s reported surrender comes nearly a month after 76 people died during a four-day assault by Jamaican security forces on Coke’s slum stronghold in West Kingston.

The Jamaica Observer says Coke walked into a police station in St. Catherine parish Tuesday accompanied by the Rev. Al Miller, an evangelical preacher who facilitated the surrender of the fugitive’s brother earlier this month.
