Man held in fatal shooting in Conway

— An 18-year-old Conway man fatally shot a 20-year-old Wynn man after an altercation Friday night in Conway, police said.

Torian Tolbert was arrested shortly after the shooting and charged with first-degree murder, according to a Conway Police Department news release.

Investigators say Tolbert shot Quvondo Evans in the neck, abdomen and feet after the altercation at the corner of Gum and Garland Streets. It happened around 6 p.m.

A friend drove Evans to Conway Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 6:30 p.m., police said.

It was not immediately clear what started the altercation between the two men.

Tolbert is being held without bond at the Faulkner County Detention Center.
