Little Rock police officers investigate a shooting at Park Plaza on Tuesday afternoon after an off-duty police officer shot at a vehicle in the lower level of the parking deck.

— Little Rock authorities say that three men tried to lure a teenager into their car at Park Plaza mall, setting off a chain of events that led to the shooting by an off-duty officer that left two of them injured.

An incident report released Wednesday said officer Christopher Johannes had been working off-duty security when he was called to assist two mall security officers in the parking garage.

According to the report, a woman told the officers that three men had tried to lure her teenage daughter into their car.

As Johannes approached the silver Chevrolet Impala thought to belong to the suspects, the report said, the driver began to back out toward the group of officers at a high rate of speed.

Johannes yelled at the driver to stop, and when the driver didn't comply, he then fired several shots at the car, hitting the driver and front-seat passenger. They were later identified as Joseph Williams, 29, and Keithen Pettus, 30. Johnnie Campbell, 25, was also in the car but wasn't injured.

Williams, who was shot in the torso, tried to flee but was caught and transported to a hospital, the report said. According to the report, Pettus and Campbell fled on foot and were captured. Pettus was shot in the face.

According to the report, officers also found a "white powder substance" and $2,474 in cash in the vehicle.

As of Tuesday, none of the men had been charged in any crime.
