LR sales-tax ballot tallies are certified

— Pulaski County election commissioners certified Little Rock’s sales-tax election results Friday.

The final tally changed by 17 votes after provisional, irregular absentee and military/ overseas ballots were verified and included. The additional ballots did not change the outcome of the election.

The results were as follows:

Adoption of a threeeighths percent sales tax for capital improvements expiring Dec. 31, 2021: For. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 12,015 Against . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10,286

Adoption of a permanent five-eighths percent sales tax for general operations: For. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 12,041 Against . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10,266

About 20 percent of Little Rock’s 111,855 registered voters cast a ballot, a total of 22,363 people during early voting, on Election Day and through the mail.
