HOUSTON — Police say a 14-year-old boy was killed trying to run across a busy section of Interstate 10 in Houston.
The Houston Chronicle reports the incident occurred late Saturday when several boys ran across the highway trying to dodge traffic. The teenager saw a car coming and tried to turn back. Police say the driver attempted to dodge the boy, but it was too late.
Police say the boy died at the scene on the East Freeway, near the Normandy exit southwest of downtown Houston. No other boys were injured.
The driver of the vehicle has not been charged. Police say the driver was not impaired.
