Fishing this week

— HOT SPOTS1. ARKANSAS RIVER (LITTLE ROCK POOL) Bream

fishing is good using crickets and worms in the

backwater. Crappie can be caught on minnows and

jigs in backwater brush. Bass are being caught on jigs and buzzbaits fished along river jetties. Catfishing isexcellent using skipjacks and rice slicks.

  1. ARKANSAS RIVER (MORRILTON) White

bass fishing is very good using Fat Raps.

White bass and stripers are moving to the

tips of jetties and are being caught using CC Spoon fished 15-25 feet deep. Kentucky bass

also are being caught on Fat Raps. Largemouths bass fishing is very good in grass using plastic worms. Bream are being caught on crickets fished inthe grass or in willow beds on sandbars. Catfishing

is good using whole shad on the front side of jetties.

  1. BEAR CREEK LAKE Bream are biting extremely wellon crickets and beetles. Catfish have been biting well

on chicken liver and crickets. Bass fishing is good using spinnerbaits and deep-diving crankbaits around brush. Crappie are being caught near the shore with live worms.

  1. DEGRAY LAKE Bass fishing is good with mostly slot fish being caught. Crappie fishing is fair. Fish are brush piles 20-25 feet

deep. Hybrid fishing is good, but the fish are scattered throughout the lake between Shrouse Ford and the islands across from the lodge.

Bream fishing is good in any cove with some cover. Catfishing is fair

using trotlines and noodles. Use Catfish Charlie, liver, dried blood or soap with hot dogs.

  1. LAKE NORFORK Black bass are being caught in 2-27 feet of water on

main lake points, with some topwater action at sunrise and sunset. White and chartreuse Zara Spook Juniors are working well. Other baits that have been working are jig-and-pigs, plastic worms and crawdads, crankbaits and spinnerbaits on windy days. Striped bass are being caught off the points in the main lake. Catfishing with jugs and trotlines is a lot of nice fish. Crappie are being caught over brush piles in 20-30 feet of water.
