LITTLE ROCK — Two dogs entered the Little Rock Zoo overnight and killed five animals after finding their way onto the grounds.
A news release from the zoo said that the dogs, described as a pit bull and a pit bull-terrier mix, dug their way into the zoo around an adjacent drain, entered the Children's Farm exhibit and killed four goats and a sheep.
Several other animals were attacked by the dogs and are currently being cared for by a zoo veterinarian, Dr. Kim Rainwater.
The dogs escaped through the same entryway they created when they were approached by zoo officials.
