Tennessee slaying, home robbery may be linked

— Investigators in western Tennessee say the slaying of a Crockett County man may have stemmed from a home robbery and be related to another burglary in the area.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Kristin Helm told The Jackson Sun that generally home burglaries come in clusters, leading investigators to think 40-year-old Matt McKnight’s death may be tied to another break-in.

McKnight was found dead at his home in Alamo Thursday afternoon.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Howell says McKnight died from a gunshot wound.
