FAYETTEVILLE — Authorities say two California men have been arrested after a traffic stop in Washington County turned up 54 pounds of marijuana and $1,100 in cash.
Police said Tuesday that 22-year-old Scott Fretland and 34-year-old Wayne Lovel, both of Eureka, Calif., were stopped Sunday on accusations they were speeding on U.S. 412.
Fayetteville television station KHOG reported that a drug-sniffing dog alerted authorities to their vehicle.
Each of the men is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and other charges. It was unclear whether they had legal representation.
