Teacher suspended in texting inquiry

Pulaski County Special School District officials have placed a Robinson High School teacher on administrative leave as county authorities investigate the teacher’s possible sexual solicitation with a student.

The unidentified teacher, who has not been charged, was placed on leave with pay Wednesday until the investigation is complete, district spokesman Deb Roush said in a news release.

Roush contacted the Pulaski County sheriff’s office on Wednesday, after a male student’s parents told her their son had received “several text messages and inappropriate digital images” from a teacher at the school, according to an information report.

District officials confirmed the cell-phone number from the text messages belonged to the teacher who has been placed on leave, the report states.

District officials, who also notified the Arkansas State Police’s Crimes Against Children division, had planned to meet with the parents Thursday, the report said.
