LADOLA HALBERT, 84, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday,March 12, 2013. She was born January 7, 1929, in Dallas, Texas, to Anson and Julia Wartman. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and former owner and co-founderof Halbert Pipe and Steel.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shela and Jerry Cooper and Debra and Edgar Sweeney III, all of North Little Rock; son and daughterin-law, Rick and Debi Halbert, of Hot Springs; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Leon Halbert.

Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 109 Tanglewood Drive, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church. LOIS PEARL KINDERVATER RICHARDS, left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on March 14, 2013 in Little Rock,Arkansas. She was born November 25, 1925. She was the second child of Gerhart Richard and Pearl Kindervater.

She was also preceded in death by herbrother, Gerhard Richard, Jr. Her husband of 53 years, James Leroy Richards predeceased her in 1998. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara J Horn of Sherwood, Arkansas and Carole A Young and husband, Nathaniel,of Heath, Texas. She was very proud of her five grandchildren; Lisa Washington, Michelle Dawly, Laura Blood, Ryan Mueller, and Ashley Mueller and her eight great-grandchildren.

She was a graduate of Little Rock Central High School and Little Rock University (University of Arkansas at Little Rock). She taught in the Lutheran and Catholic school systems for over 30 years and was a dedicated teacher who loved and admired her students each and every day.

The family will welcome friends on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 4 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W. 12th Street, in Little Rock. LEILA HAMILTON SIMS, 85, of North Little Rock passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013. She was born in Fordyce, Ark., to the late Archie and Blanche Hamilton. Leila was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd H. Sims, two sisters and one brother. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She enjoyed having her family get together. Leila will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two sons, Norman Watson (Carol), John Watson; two daughters, Nancy Peters (Gary) and Debra Miller (Phil); two stepsons, Ralph Watson and Stephen Sims; six grandchildren, Carman Stump (Heath), Daniel Watson, Garrett Peters (Stephanie), Skeet Peters (Jordan), Miles Miller and Josh Miller; three great-grandchildren Luke and Will Stump and Garrison Peters; and her brother, Edward Hamilton (Carolyn) and a host of other family and friends.

AMITY - Vergie Doster Williams, age 88, of Amity passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013. She was born Nov. 14, 1924,at Pike County, the daughter of William Abner Doster and Mary Lizzie Cantrell Doster. On Sept.

19, 1946, she was married to Hibbard Williams, who preceded her in death on March 7, 1999.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Herbert Doster, Doyle Doster, Roy Doster and Harold Doster. She attended school at Rosboro and graduated from Amity High School. In 1946, she and her husband, Hibbard, started Williams Nursery in Amity.

She is survived by her son, Nelvin Williams, and Victoria Parridge, both of Amity; one niece, Alice Kimsey of Seattle, Wash.; and one nephew, David Doster of Eugene, Ore.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery.

BENTON - Earl L. “Mitch” Mitchell, age 83, of Benton passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospital. He was born in Grubbs, Ark., to the late Robert Mitchell and Ethel Campbell Mitchell. He retiredfrom Arkansas State Hospital in Little Rock as an LPTN and was of Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, numerous brothers and sisters precededhim in death. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Mitchell; two sons, Earl Lynn Mitchell of Cabot, David L. HOT SPRINGS - Joe C. Reese, 77, of Hot Springs passed away Wednesday March 13, 2013. He was born February 13, 1936 to the late Dulcie Mae McClung Reese and Henry Freeman Reese in Sheridan.

Joe began his athletic career at Little Rock Central High School where he played tight end for coach Wilson Matthews. He was named to All-State and All American Football Teams. He also played forward on the basketball team. In 1955 he arrived at LSU on a football scholarship and was named to the All SEC Freshman Football Team. He transferred to Arkansas Tech where he pitched for the baseball team and was All AIC First Team Football. From there he was drafted to play for Coach Vince Lombardi and the Green Bay Packers.

In 1970, Joe came to Hot Springs where he was defensive coordinator for eight years. He then was promoted to head football coach. He also served dual roles as Athletic Director and Dean of Students. He was also head track coach from 1970 to 1979. In 1979, he was named Coach of the Year in Garland County. He was been named President of the Arkansas High School Coaches Association, was a member of the All-Star Coaching Staff, Chairman of All-Star Hospitality Committeeand was master of ceremonies every year for the AAA Hall of Fame Banquet. In 1989 he was president of the National Federation of Interscholastic Coaches Association. He was the only coach from Arkansas to ever serve in that capacity. In 1991, he received the National Federation of Interscholastic Coaches Association Citation Award for outstanding contributions to Interscholastic Athletes, only the forth coach ever chosen for a citation from the NFICA in the United States. In 1991, he was named Athletic Director of the Year by the Arkansas Activities Association. Under his direction, there were nine State Championships and 37 outright conference championships.

Joe retired as Dean of Students and Athletic Director for Hot Springs School District; a member of Oaklawn Methodist Church; past president of Arkansas High School Association and past president of National Federation of Interscholastic Coaches Association.

He was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Edward, Rommylee, Paul, Tom, J.D. and Frieda. Survivors include his wife, Karen Reese of Hot Springs; one son, Brad (Sara) Reese of Heber Springs; two daughters, Leigh (Karl) Cobb of Bismarck and Angela (Blaine) Venable of Conway; four grandchildren, Tyler and Kate Reese and Dylan and Lauren Cobb and many cousins, nieces and nephews

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Hot Springs Funeral Home. Services are 12 noon Saturday at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Fred Hunter officiating.Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.

ROGERS - Kenneth Eugene Russell, 74, of Rogers, Arkansaspassed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at Circle of Life in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born on May 3, 1938, in Iuka, Arkansas to Earshall Russell and Dessie KillianRussell. Kenneth attended Calico Rock High School, Class of 1956. He was Class President and a member of the Calico Rock Pirate basketball team.

In 1958, Ken married Francis Hicks Russell. They moved to Mountain Home, Ark., in 1964. After almost eight years of marriage, Ken and Fran had a daughter, Cloann. Ken worked at Baxter for 16 years. He was also a home contractor. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mountain Home.

In 2003, Ken and Fran left dear family and friends to move to Rogers to be closer to their daughter, Clo, and her family. Ken enjoyed his role as “Grandad” and loved spending time and attending events with Brittany and Broderick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers. He is survived by his wife Francis Hicks Russell, one daughter, Cloann Russell Butler, son-in-law, Stephen W Butler; granddaughter, Brittany Butler, grandson, Broderick Butler, and a host of family and friends.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Barbara Creger Richey, age 92, of Rock Island, Illinois, formally of LittleRock, Arkansas, died March 13 at Silver Cross Nursing Center of Friendship Manor in Rock Island, Illinois.

A service will be held at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton, Iowa,on Friday, March 22 at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service burial will be at the Newton Union Cemetery.

Barbara was born on September 11, 1920, in Grinnell, Iowa, to Carl and Gladys Jones. She attended public schools in Grinnell and Newton, Iowa. Barbara spent most of her adult life in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years. Much of her working life was spent with the Arkansas Revenue Department in Little Rock where she served as Supervisor of the Income Tax Division retiring in 1980. Barbara married Ralph Creger in 1941 and a second marriage to Harry Richey in 1980.

During her lifetime, she loved spending time with family and her friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great joy to her. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, square dancing and bowling.

Survivors (and spouses/partner) include her sons Carl (Lesley) of Rock Island, Illinois and Jerry Creger of Seattle, Washington. Grandchildren Christy Creger Jackson (Stuart) of Little Rock, Arkansas and Carlton Creger (Susan) of Rock Island, Illinois; step-grandchildren Matthew (Ken) Haynes of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Simon (Karyn) Haynes of Benton, Arkansas and Gail (Shayne) Mc-Gaughy of Johnston, Iowa; 10 great-grandchildren and special friend Virginia Buck of Little Rock, Arkansas. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and husband Harry.

The family of Barbara Richey wishes to thank the staff at Friendship Manor and Silver Cross Nursing of Rock Island, Illinois, for their superb care, love and support during her later years. Her caregivers were like family to her.

TULSA - Anna Jane “Jean” Lewis Haywood was born September 11, 1936, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and passed from this life on Thursday, March 14, 2013.She was born to John and Della Lewis and was the fourth of seven children.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years and 17 days, Dean Haywood, her two children andtheir spouses, Holly and Bob Warner and Robert and Diane Haywood, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers and one sister, Sam and Richard Lewis and Margie Sellars. Her parents and three brothers preceded her in death.

Jean’s life was characterized by lots of laughter, many friends, and her deep faith in Jesus. She was baptized at the Cincinnati Avenue Christian Church and was a faithful and active member of the Christian church throughout her life where she played the piano and sang in the choir.

In addition to flowers, donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Cookson Hills Christian Ministries. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Moore’s Southlawn. RICHARDSON, Texas - Halovee Davidson Perchan, formerlyof Pine Bluff, passed away March 14, 2013 at the age of 87 in Richardson, Texas. She was born to William Lester and Allie Jane Davidson on May 28, 1925, in Houlka, Mississippi, andraised in the Mississippi Delta town of Benoit.

Survivors include her four daughters, Beverly Ann Perchan, Deborah LaMarr, Susan Kennedy, and Georgia Burns. Her sons-in-law are James Kennedy and Steven Burns. Surviving grandchildren are Georgia Leigh and husband Joseph Cotton, Katherine Kennedy, Kristen LaMarr, Brett Burns, Leslie Burns and Jill Burns. Halovee has one great-grandson, Liam James Cotton. Her surviving siblings are Pauline Blythe, Juanita Luckie and William Davidson Jr. Halovee is preceded in death by her husband, George Perchan, parents, sisters Thelma Hogue, Mary Jane Porter, brother Jackson Davidson, and great-grandson, Lukas Adam Cotton.

Halovee was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She moved to Texas in August, 2012, to be closer to her daughters after her husband passed away in April of the same year. Halovee will be remembered for her kind heart and beautiful smile.

A private graveside service will be Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Graceland Cemetery with Deacon Noel “Bud” Bryant officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7 PM at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
