Police: Intruder pepper-sprays babysitter in face

A Little Rock man is accused of entering a North Little Rock apartment without permission Monday and then using pepper spray on a man who was babysitting for the woman who lives there.

Aaron T. Dillard, 31, is facing charges of criminal trespass and third-degree battery.

According to a North Little Rock Police Department report, Dillard went in through an unlocked back door of an apartment in the 700 block of West 18th Street.

Police say he then approached a man who was babysitting for the resident's children and sprayed him in the face with pepper spray. It happened about 2:15 p.m.

According to the report, officers were there when Dillard tried to leave through the back door. He reportedly told them then, "Yes, I maced him."

It wasn't clear what the motive was for the purported assault.

Dillard remained in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday morning with bail not yet set. He is due in court later Tuesday for a preliminary appearance.
