LITTLE ROCK — Domestic violence programs in Arkansas are feeling the strain of the partial federal government shutdown.
Board members with the domestic violence shelter Women & Children First are set to hold a news conference on Wednesday to talk about the effects the impasse is having on their organization.
Across the country, the shutdown has been squeezing programs that rely on federal funding. A number of donors have chipped in to keep those programs afloat. But those donations aren't enough to cover the federal funding tied up by the shutdown that began Oct. 1.
It's not clear when the shutdown will end.
