Robbery injures man at Sharks restaurant in Little Rock

Police are searching for two men in a Tuesday evening robbery that left one man injured.

Authorities were dispatched to Sharks Fish and Chicken, 1423 W. Roosevelt Road, at 7:40 p.m. after receiving a call of a shooting that had just occurred, according to a report from the Little Rock Police Department. Upon arrival, police made contact with, Sherrell Layton, 28, who said a someone had just shot her boss.

Once inside the restaurant, authorities found Abdelaziz Amrieh, 53, bleeding from the top of his head. Amrieh told police that two men, one armed with a handgun, walked in and demanded money from the cash register, according to the report.

Amrieh said he asked one of the suspects "Are you going to kill me over some money? Just take it," before the suspect struck him on the head twice with the gun, the report says. Layton said the suspects, who also had bandannas over their faces, jumped over the counter, with one taking Amrieh to the register at gunpoint while the other stuck a gun in her mouth and also demanded money, according to the report.

One of the robbers became upset and injured Amrieh, according to the report, as Layton said Amrieh was "lying on the ground bleeding." Layton was forced to open the cash register because her boss was hurt, and the robbers took the money in it and Layton's purse, and then fled the restaurant southbound on foot.

Amrieh refused treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The robbers are described as black males, one wearing a black hat, black shirt and black pants, the other wearing a white hat and white shirt. No arrests have been made at this time.
