The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department will hold public meetings this month in Little Rock and North Little Rock to present and discuss the Interstate 30 planning and environmental linkages study.

The study will identify and document the transportation needs and potential improvements for the study area, which includes I-30 from Interstate 40 to Interstate 530, including the Arkansas River bridge, as well as I-40 from John F. Kennedy Boulevard to U.S. 67/167. The project is part of the department's $1.8 billion highway construction program.

The meetings will be held Aug. 12 in North Little Rock and Aug. 14 in Little Rock. Both are scheduled to last from 4-7 p.m.

The Aug. 12 meeting will be held in the Bank of Ozarks conference center at the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, 100 Main St., in North Little Rock.

The meeting on Aug. 14 will be held in the Cash/Campbell ballroom at the Comfort Inn & Suites Presidential, 707 I-30 in Little Rock.

The public meetings will be held in an open house format to allow the public to view maps and exhibits, to ask questions, and to provide input on the study. For more information, contact the department's Connecting Arkansas Program manager at 501-255-1519 or
