The bodies of two people were discovered after a structure fire Thursday on Arkansas 7 north of Dover in Pope County.
Dispatchers sent responders from the Pope County sheriff ’s office, the Martin Township Fire Department, the Dover Rural Fire Department and Pope County Emergency Medical Services to the fire about 10:45 a.m.Thursday.
After the fire was extinguished, authorities found the bodies of a man and a woman burned beyond recognition, a news release from the Pope County sheriff’s office said. The bodies were sent to the state Crime Laboratory for identification and autopsy.
The blaze is under investigation by the Pope County sheriff’s office and the Arkansas State Police, the release said.
