NLR police chargeman after standoff

While police executed an arrest warrant Saturday, a North Little Rock man held his girlfriend and her children against their will and attempted to flee, according to police.

Officers went to 1403 Division St. about 1:15 p.m. Saturday to arrest Marlon Patterson, 40, on charges of failure to appear, failure to pay fines and violating conditions of probation. Patterson would not answer the door, and police learned that he was holding his girlfriend and her two children in a bedroom near the back of the house, according to a police report.

Officers set up a perimeter around the house while attempting to coax Patterson outside, police said. Patterson ran out the front door and fled south on Division Street, according to police. He was caught and arrested after a short foot chase.

Patterson is being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of a $11,990 bond. He is charged with three counts of false imprisonment, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, interfering with a law enforcement officer, fleeing, failure to pay fines, two counts of petition for revocation and five counts of failure to appear.

According to police reports, Patterson failed to appear or pay fines for the following offenses: possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing, terroristic threatening, false imprisonment and failing to comply with sex offender reporting requirements.

Jacksonville manheld on 13 charges

A Jacksonville man was arrested Saturday on 13 charges, including drug possession, theft and traffic violations, according to police.

Police stopped a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Jordan Reginald Winder, 19, after he purportedly failed to yield, sped and ran a stop sign on Park Drive in Jacksonville about 11 a.m. Saturday. After obtaining Winder's identification, police learned that his license was suspended, and a warrant had been issued for his arrest on a misdemeanor charge, according to a police report.

During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered pieces of marijuana on the driver's side floorboard and a pill bottle containing oxycontin, oxycodone and hydrocodone, police said. Officers also found two stolen credit cards, according to police.

Winder had pieces of chewed up marijuana in his mouth, according to a police report. On the way to the police station, he reportedly threw up marijuana and a small plastic bag in the back seat of the squad car.

Winder is being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of a $12,095 bond. He is charged with two counts of possessing a Schedule II controlled substance with purpose to deliver, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance with purpose to deliver, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance with purpose to deliver, tampering with physical evidence, two counts of theft by receiving, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance, failure to yield, no seat belt and failure to serve jail time.
